The pieces are made from a patented resin that simulates wood, giving the dark pieces a crimson rosewood appearance and the light pieces a beautiful natural wood grain. Each piece has a high gloss finish which makes it appear to be an expensive lacquered wood set. They are extremely well weighted and feature handsome black leather bottoms.

Beautiful, heavy, durable, playable. Pictured with a larger 22 inch brown vinyl board instead of the usual 20 inch size. Order extra queens separately if you prefer 34 total pieces. These pieces are worthy of an appropriate sized, quality wooden board.
Just got this set and it looks stunning in person. The white pieces are a little darker than the pictures show. They are really glossy as well. they were larger than I thought they would be as well. The K and Q goes edge to edge on a a 2" square. My 2.25 is perfect for it. This set was hard to track down but glad I got it here for the best price. #highlyrecommend
